I had a few problems with mine a 2009 three door with automatic transmission. At 25,000 miles the water pump went and was replaced under warranty. Out of warranty at 35,000 miles the oil pressure sensor failed and all the oil leaked out of the engine. Luckily as soon as the oil light came on I stopped and checked the oil and finding none have the car flatbed to Toyota. There was like a $275 bill to replace the oil pressure sensor, but I contacted Toyota consumer and they refunded me $175. No problem since then.
Anyone else have any problems they weren’t expecting from a Toyota? :iono:

Well, I have a 2012 three-door hatchback that has been an absolute joy to own. I am coming up on 100,000 miles this month.
As for problems...
20,000 mile service - A brand-new battery was installed due to a bad cell. Free replacement under warranty.
75,000 mile service - A new battery (probably time) and positive terminal replacement. The terminal had corrosion that I observed.
95,000 mile service - Had to replace a positive terminal and assembly due to corrosion, that I observed.
So, those are the only issues I have had thus far. Battery. Everything else works great.

CD player doesn't like to work half the time, I use it a lot, I hate radio.
Exhaust shield rattle, fixed with a bigger washer.
Battery lasted 9 years.

I have a 2017 Yaris with 30k miles and had the radio replaced twice (under warranty). I also had the weather stripping around the driver's side door replaced right after I bought it since it appeared to be installed wrong at the factory (this was covered under warranty, too). Other than that, things are good.
