Could someone clue me in on how to check the transmission fluid level on this car? I haven't a clue. Thanks.

There's no dipstick for it. It's basically having the car leveled, and opening the fill plug. The fluid should be filled until it starts leaking out. Might as well replace it at that point.

Thanks, KL. Okay, don't laugh or shake your head. But where's the fill plug?

Make one of these. They come in handy for filling diffs and transmissions from below.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbNhswhnvuA

Here is a nice tutorial: https://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8912
No need for a fancy filling tool for this job. A funnel with a piece of hose will do just fine (filling from top).
If you decide to change the oil then use only original Toyota. Multiple people (including me) had multiple issues with quality non-original oils (Mobil 1, Valvoline,...) despite their full conformity with the specs.

Great guide to follow. Only thing I'd add, which I mentioned already, is to replace the gaskets/washers with new ones. So if you do replace the trans fluid, order the gaskets in advance (they're way more expensive at a dealership).
I just use a cheap fluid transfer pump for my transmission and diff (for the FR-S) fluid/oil changes.
The Yaris seems to like Amsoil, but in the FR-S, it shifts smoother with the Toyota/Subaru lube.
