excessive valve and or engine noise?

I have a sedan automatic, and when my car idles in and out of park, I hear excessive valve noise, does anyone else have this issue. My car has 3300 miles on it and i'm not comfortable with this from a new car. The dealership mechanic told me that cheap cars just make more noise... I guess i'll call toyota tomorow and complain.

have you checked the oil level lately? Have you recently changed fuel brand, or station where you purchase?

Yes i've kept an eye on my oil level and its been fine, I only have only filled up at Exxon, I don't use cheap gas.

the valve train noise you are hearing is normal, and means that your engine is functioning properly. start worrying if mpg's drop, or large chuncks of metal are found in the engine oil.

otherwise, everything is a-ok. I've owned 3 toyotas. A '87 pickup, a '94 corrolla, and my '07 yaris. The first two had over 200,000 miles, and made similar clicking noises...it is a toyota engine attribute that takes some getting used to.
