Hi Folks:

Been many years since I have posted. If you know me I am an avid Yaris fan and still love my vehicle. I'm still hypermiling, but Liberty Rides! has gone down 4-5 miles on average. I'm averaging 44 miles a gallon. Those days of upper 40's with a good bit of 50's are gone. Primarily with change of my original tires. Should of went with OEM tires but the tread wear sucked. Oh, those were the days. To the day I have not had one problem with my Yaris and have almost 100,000 miles. My mechanic told me I can get another 30,000 miles easy! Guess paying hypermiling along with all the middle fingers has payed off!

I remember you all when just a year later from owning the Yaris, I was diagnosed with an Acoustic Neuroma brain tumor. Thank you all for your support in that half year recuperating. I guess it was the mid-2010's that I started to fade away and not post. I was a bit depressed. I was still there, but not posting.

Then in 2019 I came into some money. I have always been a performance muscle car fan. Ford pony cars. This year I ordered a 2020 Ford Mustang Bullitt. It is an upgraded version of a GT performance pack I mustang, but with out the badges (subtle look) and some more engine upgrades. It uses the 5.0 Coyote engine but uses the GT-350 intake manifold. The throttle body is also widened larger and uses the open GT 350 air filter. This squeezes an additional 20 HP to a total of 480 naturally aspirated HP. Zero to 60 mph: 4.2 sec / Top speed: 163 mph governed. So, on weekends I'm not hypermiling and getting great gas mileage. I'm burning the octane and driving spirited. On weekdays Liberty Rides! is still my main love. Going to keep her another 5-7 years and trade her in for a Yaris or replacement if the model is discontinued. Here are pictures of Liberty Rides! and Giddyap!:smoking:

Sweet! The new Mustangs sound great. They're pretty loud from the factory. My neighbor has a GT, and switched out the exhaust. I forget what brand, but it made it higher pitched than stock (I don't really like it).

Thanks for the update and glad all is well!

Yaris still looking crispy and that bullitt 'stang is a beaut, isn't it?

Heads-up, the Yaris model isn't technically discontinued, but as of last year, they did away with the hatch version. The "Yaris" sedan you'll find on dealership lots today is not a proper Toyota, but a rebadged Mazda 2 through the Toyota/Mazda partnership. Various opinions on that, but you be the judge.

Stay well!

I'd say 30,000 more miles is a pretty conservative estimate. I would figure at least another 100,000 considering all the care you have put into Liberty Rides!

They both look great and it's always cool to see the unique pairings drivers have in their garages. A car like the Mustang would get me in a lot of trouble, however. I do have to say- I love that color green!

Yaris looks great! Hope you keep it until the wheels fall off. Mustang is very nice, but I'm not man enough for that car. Best wishes to you and thanks for sharing, STC!

Live Life Day by Day! The "Present" is a "Gift" (I have health problems I do understand!) - Enjoy the Mustang! (and the Yaris)

Anyway I know you must have a Manual 2010 Yaris, to get that kind of mpgs, I noticed you were talking about Factory tires giving good gas mileage but wear too quickly... The 2010 actually had two options for factory tires, I was curious which brand you had?

My December 09 Production Car Had Japan Mfg Goodyear Eagle LS, My May 2010 Production had Bridgestone Potenza, Both cars are 100% identical per Toyota in order packages, Except one is Blazin Blue and other is Yellow Jolt...The Yellow one I bought 14 months ago with 7800 miles (YES, 7800 that is not a TYPO) and it still had the 9 year old Bridgstones!
