Anyone hear anything about this? A memo leaked on Reddit.

"Toyota would like to thank the Yaris family for fifteen years on the market and nearly half a million vehicles sold in the U.S. Yaris Sedan and Yaris Hatchback production for the U.S. (including Hawaii) will end at the end of June 2020. Puerto Rico will have minimal production through November 2020.”

Thanks for posting.

If I recall, starting with the 2019 model year, the Yaris was basically a rebadged Mazda, yes?

What would be YarisWorld's go-to new car for someone looking for cheap, economical, no-frills, and reliable transportation? Honda Fit? Kia Forte? Kia Soul? Corolla Hatchback? Other?

My next daily will probably be a 2018+ Camry Hybrid LE.

Retire my '14 and turn it into a fun track nugget and enjoy my comfy 50mpg old man car for commuting and errands.

Not like it was a real Toyota Yaris anyway, since that was discontinued after model year 2018. Glad to see the rebadged Mazda2 sedan/hatch going away as a Toyota branded vehicle.

The Yaris was discontinued long ago.

I guess the current corolla has eliminated the need for the yaris.

Even though the Yaris Cross will likely never hit the NA market (& which would have probably been a good small car seller in this market), I bet the Corolla Cross will at some point. Seems like it would sell better than the fugly Scion-designed C-HR just on name alone, though the Corolla Cross isn't exactly a looker either from what I have seen.

I know I am in the minority, but I got a 2019 Yaris L knowing that it is indeed a mazda2. For $15k out the door, I think it is a pretty good choice for a little econobox. You have a simple i4 engine, standard trans, good gas mileage, easy to fix/maintain, and the toyota badge will probably help the resale value in the future.

For me, I was not going to get a GM or kia or ford or vw, so the only choice for me was Yaris or Fit. However, the fit was 2-3k more and only came in the hatchback style so I am happy with the Mazda/Yaris, it is a fun little go cart that was really cheap and the Skyactiv engine with the standard trans should last a pretty long time :D

The Yaris died in 2019(2018 for the US). The new Mazda based Yaris is nothing but a badge engineered clown shoe.

Since I couldn't buy a new Toyota made Yaris I ended up buying a Mitsubishi Mirage and so did my wife. We like them quite a bit.

Cute cars! I rarely see them in Hawaii despite living near the Mitsubishi dealer.

I’m glad to see this Mazda “Yaris” fade away. It would be fine if sold by Mazda as the Mazda2 here but Toyota trying rebadging it was poor taste. I’ve wanted very badly to buy another Toyota but they are just so ugly to me now. Cmon Toyota re-release the 2010-11 Yaris 4-door hatch in Blazing Blue. Then take my money! Haha!

I'm with you there. It very well may be a great car but I can't shake the bait and switch feeling.

RIP. I hope to carry on the Yaris legacy for many more years to come!

I just saw the photos of the Yaris Cross and it is so much nicer than the C-HR. I wonder if Toyota will copy Subaru’s lifted Impreza hatch (Crosstrek) idea and give us the lifted Corolla like you mentioned.

I test drove a manual sedan and the automatic hatchback and hated both of them. It seemed to be such a downgrade from the Yaris I used to have, let alone the Mirage I currently drive.

I actually saw my first Mazda Yaris hatch the other day. It was decent looking, but I prefer the OG yaris. I see the Mazda Yaris sedans all the time.
