View Full Version : Lowering alignment/rubber on springs

I have a set of TRD (eibach) springs installed. the rear one's have a platic coating around the spring tubing, is that suposed to be at the bottome or the top when installed.

2nd question is... now that i have dropped it and added 15's do i need to do an alignment on the car.

I would assume the bottom, read the instructions, call the manufacturer.

Don't -have- to align. No.

It is always recommended to do alignment when you drop your car, with that said I have NF210 on mine and didn’t do it and did not feel a difference.

2. I need it alignment after doing the DF drop, won't hurt to check it

So if the rubber coating is at the bottom then the "Eibach" name is to be upside down? Currently They are installed so the eibach print right side up so the rubber coating is at the top of the spring.

I am not worried about my steering response, that alignment is fine, i am more concerned about tire wear. I will go and have it aligned, better safe then sorry.

nothing wrong with having it aligned but you may not need it, they'll check it for you

i would think the name would go right side up, CALL THE MANUFACTURER

the rubber is there in the middle to prevent rubbing of the spring where the compression points (can't think of how to say it right) would normally touch. kind of like a bushing.

the eibach name is upright on the spring, therefore the name should be readable if the spring is installed correctly.

and yes get an alignment. even if you don't feel anything that doesn't mean the wear of the tires is correct or the suspension is geometrically sound.
