Yaris 2016
Engine:
2nz-fe 1299mL

This engine is installed used since when?
I read somewhere that its since 2005/2006 same engine...
True?
Nothing changed?
Same quality too?
Cuz i see older Yaris’s still run smooth & like a clock...
&
My ride is around 210,000km
& im starting to here sounds in the engine...
Even though i drive normal or slow(mostly)
Is there a better & longlife & economic.. toyota/lexus engine that I could install in my car? Even if its old?
I heard a 91s camry engine can take a beating & run like a clock...
Or other suggestions?

No plans on selling it incase its a suggestion...

what is your issue?

i have same 2nz-fe in my yaris 2016 and we are both in saudi. i think mine has the single VVTI. the new yaris 2017 above uses different engine with dual VVTI. mine is at 106k KM now after 4 yrs of use... runs like bnew... can barely notice engine sound when the AC is off.

just did normal maintenance by full syn 5w30 lube oil changes every 8-10k km and plug changes every 20k km... never had a problem except for the evaporator which had a premature failure (pinhole leak at 3yrs 1 month).. aside from that everything runs smooth... i regularly cleaned my throttle body every year.
