2015 yaris 1.3 sedan 4automatic asian...

now its at 210.000 km...

since i got it(new ZEROs)

& i change it with 10w40 as recommended by the dealership

up till it reached 210k/km

the dealer was out of stack(to buy & DIY...)

so was wandering what type of oil my engine use since i forgot

cuz i usually go there & ask for yaris oil 10k... the blue bottle...

so i opened the book if the car

found that it says that its recommended for 5w30 .. but 10w30 Ok on heated area's...

so i asked toyota dealership mechanic...

& some response by "idk" or "10w40 & no WHYs"...

& some big DIY mechanic's like scotty from youtube .. says to stick by the book

so im wandering what U pour for your yaris...? whats best

It looks like the dealership is using 10w40 because it can be used in slightly higher outside temperatures compared to 5w-30. Here is what I looked at.

https://www.motorstate.com/oilviscosity-htm/#:~:text=A%2010W%20flows%20well%20in,was%20recomme nded%20for%20summer%20use.&text=A%2010W%2D30%20had%20the,thickness%20of%20a%2 030%20grade.

I would recommend that you look at what the temperatures for the two, and see if you want to use 5w-30, like the handbook says, or 10w-40, what the dealership has been putting in.
