Hello Community,

1: Can someone please share what is the weight of stock 1nz-fe cvt Flex plate?

2: Can it be replaced by an aftermarket light weight one?

3: Which one? Any recommendations?

4: How much performance gain would be expected?

Cvt doesn't have a flywheel.

OK, I'll take a crack at it.
Swapping out the flexplate for a CVT type transmission is trivial. There is almost no point to it, if any, maybe reducing the rotating mass, but I'm not sure of it's actual impact as far as improved or reduced performance. Hence why there is little or no aftermarket performance replacement for it. I have heard that some have replaced their flexplates in the traditional automatic transmission to improve the shift points "steps". The flexplate would be almost, if not the same weight as the OE, but the weight is distributed away from the center and more on the outer circumference. CVT is a system with seamless, “stepless” gear transmission. Therefore there's no reason to replace a CVT's flexplate.
CVTs offer nearly an infinite number of gear ratios, meaning your engine is always working at peak efficiency, regardless of speed.
If you're looking for improved performance, maybe you should concentrate more on the engine, better tires, reduce the weight of the car, etc. if you want to keep that transmission. I hope you find that informative.
