Did you figure out why the engine threw a rod? A fairly rare happening on the 1NZ, I would think. In fact, I have been trying to sell my the 1NZ I pulled from my '06. It has 180000 kms on it and runs like new. No one buys these engines as they rarely fail. The cars rot out and get junked with near perfect engines and drivetrains.

The swap should be very easy and no additional wiring would be needed. Just plug the harness connectors back in and it should fire right up. I would remove the wiper tray, radiator and radiator support. This will give you tons of room. You could remove the lower radiator support too and roll the engine straight in. I didn't take the lower rad support off when I swapped in the 2ZR.
