Hello
I have been looking for a Yaris Between 2007-2010 and I have encountered some suggestions from people who say the Robotic Transmissions of this Generation has proven to be faulty.

What they have Suggested is Opt not for a Robotic Transmission but for an Automatic Transmission (With Oil pressure, they call it here "transmission with oil")... Please don't laugh as this is what I heard.

Among this confusion I turned to this forum for some help.
Can you please let me know besides Robotic Transmission
What is the name of the alternative Transmission (Automatic) not manual.

Thank you upfront and I am sorry if I made a confusing(unknowledgeable queston).

Models are different here in the USA. I have never heard of the transmission you call robotic. But the regular four-speed automatic sold here are quite good

Are you maybe thinking of a CVT Continuous Variable Transmission?
I don't know if the 2007-2010 Yaris in your area of the world. Used a CVT style transmission.
As mentioned. We have the four-speed Automatic here.

Hello CVT it is yes. I have heard that if I want an automatic I must get an US version as it's much more reliable than the CVT

I believe the transmission you are referring to is called a MMT, or Multimode Manual Transmission, essentially an automated manual transmission. I know Toyota offered these in Europe. They were never offered in the US. And yes I've heard that they were somewhat problematic. I don't know if the conventional automatic was available in Europe. I do know that I've never seen one there.

I would agree the automatic version is preferable to the CVT.

Just get a manual transmission one and never look back.
