So recently bought a 2007 Yaris 1.3 vvti as a run about while I’m between cars, Now the abs light came on last week so I plugged it in and it came up with left rear speed sensor C1333 so after searching online I opted to buy a new rear hub complete with speed sensor however before I went ahead to fit it I plugged the harness into the new hub cleared the fault and spun the hub up while holding it and the abs fault came back abs light on the dash with the same C1333 left rear, my question is would the hub need to fitted to the car and driven to calibrate the new sensor?

Many thanks

The problem is usually corrosion buildup on the wired sensor the connects to the hub, not an issue with the hub. Do some searching here. There are many instances where people have had success cleaning the sensor and applying liberal amounts of dielectric grease before reconnecting.

When you say clean the sensor do you mean the harness plug and sensor plug?

Clean everything making the connection, both hub side and harness side.

Thanks I’ll give it a go, so it can’t be the hub at fault if the new one still brings up the fault code

I was tempted to swap harnesses left to right to see if the fault occurs on the other side

good idea!

I swapped MAF sensor’s between my Yaris and my sons echo. Then the Yaris had a code and the code on the echo cleared
