I just bought a 2010 Yaris. When locking the doors with the key fob the horn beeps three times. When unlocking the horn beeps twice. The noise is incredibly annoying and unnecessary. My previous car was a 2010 Yaris also, and when using the remote to lock and unlock the doors on that Yaris the lights flashed which was fine.
Any kind of noise either from the horn or a beeper when engaging or disengaging locks or an alarm is incredibly annoying and inconsiderate. How do I stop the beeping? I like the lights flashing function when locking and unlocking because sometimes it makes it easy to locate the car at night, and I can tell that the locks are locked.
Also, when I shut the engine off, all the locks open. I don't need any lock open when I turn the engine off. How do I disable this feature also? Thanks for any replies.
