Hi All,
I have always thought that my 2007 Yaris with 64kW 1,3 2SZFE engine has direct injection - it was also supported by some bits and pieces of information on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_SZ_engine).
However, based on some other findings, it seems that there are several sub-families of the SZ engines and the EU 2SZFE (https://toyota-club.net/files/faq/21-07-01_faq_sz-engine_en.htm) version is actually port/indirect injection.
Does anyone have by any chance some reliable source of information that could clarify this once and for all?
I guess one guaranteed solution would be to take out one injector and use a bore camera to peek in where the injector tip actually goes... but I guess there must be some official info somewhere.
Thanks in advance... I would be delighted to have the indirect injection so that I do not need to care about carbon buildups....
