2010 Yaris, 109,000 kms (67,730 miles). Was out driving yesterday and the first thing I noticed was the battery warning light, followed by the engine coolant temperature warning light. Not long after, the engine indicator light came on. The heater wasn't blowing any warm air. Today, I filled it with coolant (it was very low) and cleaned the battery terminals. I then took it for a drive around the block and only the battery light was on, the coolant light and engine light had gone out. Within minutes, the engine light and coolant light came on again. I then started noticing stiffness with the steering. I got it back in my driveway and by that time, these lights had come on:
1. Charging system warning light
2. Engine Coolant Temperature light
3. Engine indicator lamp.
4. Electric Power Steering Warning light.
5. Brake System Warning light.
6. ABS Warning light.
I turned the car off in the driveway and now it doesn't start. This doesn't look good...

A bad battery can cause all your sensors and computers to act weird. Test the battery and probably replace it.

Figured it out. Had a look under the hood, the serpentine belt broke and is gone. Explains the electrical failures.

bad alt/belt and a bad battery can do ALOT of funny things

HOWEVER
since you mentioned the coolant being low, check it a few times a day for a while as sometimes getting the air bubbles out of the system can be troublesome, just keep topping it off till it stops needing it

The rectifier just went out on my yaris alternator and the symptoms were exactly the same. The coolant has nothing, and i mean nothing to do with any of the other symptoms. I may do a guide on the yaris alternator as i rebuild starters amd alternators and just got done with my yaris' alternator

Did all the codes cleared after the belt replacement?
