2007 Yaris manual trans shifting from 2nd to 3rd not smooth

2007 yaris 5 speed with 106k miles. Shifting from 2nd to 3rd isn't smooth like all the other gears. I changed the fluid using Valvoline 75-90 conventional and I also lubed the shifter and still the same. Should I use synthetic gear lube? Does anyone else have this issue?

Synchro might be failing, how does it sound and feel when you go from 2 to 3?

When shifting from 2nd to 3rd, there's a little resistance but there's no grinding noise.

I have a similar issue, I changed my gear box oil (Royal Purple) and it felt brand new. Though I do have a leak and the problem is beginning to occur again.

How many miles did you put on the car using the Royal Purple before the problem started again?

Sometimes now I just shift from 2nd to fourth.

Mines always been a little rough/grindy going from 2 to 3 unless I make sure the my speed and rpm are fairly low (under 3000). Not sure I want to know what it would cost to fix.
