Does anyone have any experience installing JDM side folding mirrors? I did a search and could not find anything useful.
I was mostly looking for wiring instructions. My 2007 Yaris LB has the manual windows so no power anything. Before I purchase I just want to make sure I can even get them to work. Thanks in advance!

pop the kick panel and have a look to see if you have the power hookup at all, if not youl be in for a bit o wiring shold be a bulkhead back there that makes everything plug n play..some have it.......some dont

Unless the gen 2s are all pre-wired for power mirrors like the gen 3s are, I hope you like wiring. lol

It's too bad the MicroImage site went tits up. We had a member in Guelph who did it to his 2010. There had been an excellent write-up on the project. It was a significant challenge is all I can remember.

let me preface this by saying i have no idea what those mirrors are or how they are wired
with that said
i have added power mirrors, door locks and even power windows to cars that never came with them and were never wired for them
the biggest issue with mirrors(and this is a generalization) is that you need to have a semi matching switch...IE if its a 5 wire setup then you need a 5 wire switch...ive seen some weird units where they have mmulti pole motors and alot more wiring involved
your typical mirror works in 2 motor setup 4 wires in total there is no "ground" the switch is your ground and you run all 4 wires from the motor back to the switch, and you power and ground the switch and then draw power from a fuse and chassis the ground...teh switch itself powers one wire and grounds the matching wire, this can all be figured out in short order with a multi meter
so long as your comfortable running wires its not useualy a big deal
worst one i ever did was power windows into an 86 civic from an accord....that was a brutal one..the holes in the doors wernt even the same

if you pop off the painted cover to expose the wiring at the individual parts figureing it out should be a breeze
is the light a single turn signal or is it a combo marker/signal?

I don't have experience with the JDM power folding mirrors. However, I can confirm that adding replica power mirrors to a USDM 2009 yaris is as simple as buying mirrors *with the motor pre-installed* and an OEM power mirror switch and installing them. My car was pre-wired between the mirrors and the switch which is located under the driver side AC vent.

Good question, I know they are signal, but not sure about marker. I'd have to do some digging. From a cursory look, they were only released to the Asian market, most of these I've seen have come out of Thailand.

I'll need to check to see if my Yaris is pre-wired. Keep in mind I haven't bought them yet, the pics above are from the sales listing.

Did you ever end up giving this a go? I'm looking at doing the same with my 07 Yaris hatch, it has powered mirrors for adjusting but I want the power folding.

I didn't. I'm in the process of setting up my garage and haven't gotten around to it. If I decide to try it, I'll post about it.
