Anyone have success in replacing 2007 Yaris head gasket? One Toyota specialty shop said they don't do head gaskets on the all aluminum Yaris engine?? Toyota dealer quoted crazy outrageous price of 2100.00 dollars.

I doubt you could find it for less than $1500 so you might as well keep looking. There’s nothing that pays quite like being able to fix your own car! I used to rebuild the old vw engines for $250 in parts. A whole new short block. Those days are long gone!

These engines are everywhere, call local scrap yards. Around here I can get low mileage 1.5s for 500$ and most shops wouldn't take much more to install it.

What he said. Hell if you're willing to take a bit of a risk, you can get a long block from a U-pull for under 200 bucks all day.

You have a 2007, why are you in the 3rd Gen discussion? J/K

I've seen a lot of Scion xD in the junkyard when I used to live in California. You might as well get a 2ZR engine while you're at it...
