This is a 2008 yaris sedan and when I make a really hard left turn at speed, I hear a loud thud noise like someone hitting the inner wheelwell with a heavy hammer on the right.
anyone ever have that?
thanks

I have the same exact problem. I believe it’s an outer tie rod end. I’ll report back when I get my parts in the mail.

ya I dont think its the tierod I dont feel anything in the wheel. and the cv isnt clinking.
It sounds like someone throwing a softball at the front fender.
I guess I'll have to pull the wheel and start prying

How many miles on your Yaris? In my experience noises like that under those conditions can be caused by bad ball joints. You seldom see that problem Onlyon cars with high mileage

wife did a hard uturn in traffic and bumped the curb and ive got the same noise, ive had the wheels off and cant find anything..ive done the shimmy n shove tests i used to do at teh tire shop checking for bad suspension parts and came up empty...strut tower mount?
mine is exceptionaly hard to replicate..every now n then a steep drop speedbump in a slight turn or the perfect dip in a full lock corner will replicate it

check your lower control arm bolts, sometimes they will break off

The rear suspension can make a loud pop when I turn off a road to a parking lot and there is that relatively sharp bump for water drain control
I can easily sound like it is coming from the front.

i know on mine atleast the "pop" sounds like that of a 1/2 inch ratchet handle and the impact point sounds like its coming from..well..the battery....
fully away of sound getting carried and shifted around cars, so i suspect its something in the left front but all of my initial inspections have turned up nothing
new snow wheels will be going on soon so ill do a full inspect of the rear
