NCP91 RS Option jdm tail light install in NCP90

I seen these on an RS jdm vitz at the wreckers and asked the guy to hold them for me and finally picked them up today. Same car the brakes came off so only cost me $150 nzd for the pair :thumbup:

The NZ new yaris have the same plugs as the usdm and other domestic non jdm cars so I will be having to bust out the soldering iron tomorrow and go ham.

I did get the wrecker to chop off the plugs as I had read they were different on here beforehand.

You can! Theres a bunch of RS lights for sale on ebay, I kind of want to get the front aftermarket led lights from ebay or amazon. This set Ive seen for sale and there is the other three styles and the standard yari/vitz light.

i really like that last set..but only as a smoked option....as for the "RS" jdm's i like the clear lense ones smoked..the all red to me just drowns the style too much..and the clear version makes it look too..ricer aftermarket

the smoked ones "dull" em down just enough atleast to me to make them look like an optional factory part...i know they all are..but they are also too wild at the same time LOL

Yeah I listed all the RS lights for ncp91 from toyota.

I didnt buy aftermarket ones because I dont trust the crappy led's they use. They never seem to last and you end up with half the stove pipe not working etc, rather have the oem toyotas myself, in saying that I may get the after market headlights as they take halogens still and one of my lights is yellow and on the list to update. All the second hand headlights are yellowed too.

as somone whos had lights apart and made custom ones for other cars, an option is to pop n swap the lense

that said
i did get these headlights from this vendor..(turned out to be genuine specD)and the only issues i had was one of the 3 lil spot led's kept popping out...a lil rtv fixed it(and i mean just a dab), and that when i changed the whole unit over to HID that holders needed to be snugged up IE the keeper tweaked
a year of abuse tells me its been a good buy

i just need to find a set of tail lights to complete the look..thus the desire for smoked

aside from the 3 listed above and including the US stock ones..ive never seen an aftermarket solution that looked good and was rice rice baby

Tail lights look nice, Japan gets all the cool stuff. I managed to track down a pair of Vitz G's/GRMN tails with the clear LED ring for my car. There are a couple more 'common' versions but the clears are the most rare.

i think you missunderstood..i love the rs stovepipes but only the clear ones..something about the red over them washes em out and makes em weird..almost like an afterthought

Wheelbase on the gen 3s are a couple inches longer so I doubt it.

yup exact reason i sent the first one back and ordered a second one..both were epic failures..so i suspect its all about the "source" you get them from as to weather they can be modified to work or not
