So stolked with this deal!

I had been watching this for months now and finally just offered him $200nzd which he took! I expected them to be worn out but they are in mint condition with no visable signs of wear at all :headbang:

Only issue was I had to buy a new wrench for them but that was $24 locally.

Yes, I think they bought them and then could not pass their warrant of fitness for modified suspension, I plan to get them low volume certed maybe after getting bucket seats.

Please post pics of your car after install. Also, let us know how the ride feels. will do!

OOh they are seperate, they just come together like this so you don't loose parts. I have them all fitted now.

Pretty soft honestly! i was expecting them to be stiff but the ride is nice, i think i will even turn the dampners up to make it stiffer.

Anyway pics! Have not taken the beauty pics of ride height yet, maybe tonight..I wanna get some slick pictures to show it...But I have not slammed her shes still got about 2cm of gap above the tires still. That gas plastic fuel tank is only about 10cm from the road lol

Actually would love some help fine tuning the dampening I can not find original settings on the internet and they were all different. Front is now at 9 damapening and rear at 1 So soft front stiff rear? From what i read this is what i want?

if you do a track day you might want to favor stiffer rear and softer front, could even put them even front to rear and will feel nice and neutral

Them  RS brakes haha

I hit went over a speed bump a little hard and bottomed out on the bump stop lol. Shes lower thats for sure so wil have to soften the front more and maybe the back a little more.

You can hard swerve her back and fourth now on the road and it just feels like she grips in! No more wondering ass end..it feels like driving a bigger way more planted car.

lol bigger planted car...im rollin 195/60/14 quatrac5's on the stock suspension no rear sway..and shes GLUED even in the wet....shes almost comprable to my slightly tweaked alfa gtv6 just down on power LOL

i can only imagine what those parts would do with these tires

Well the Tein is very soft and squishy but boy oh boy does it grip! No more rear feeling like a trailer being towed, it doesnt waver in the lanes when trying to drive straight OMG what an improvement.

I have now got the dampners set at two which is almost as hard as they go and i love it.

Im going to get urethane sway bar bushes and maybe the rear trailing arm bushes etc to firm it up.

I will post part numbers when i get them.

There we go.

Don't look at my wheels, I bought them resprayed black and have not got around to redoing them with some peoper etching primer and clear coat.

Wheels were $120nzd they are Aussie made ROH ZS 15x7j they are not in production anymore and I think suit it.

Nice!!!

My wheels are meh... they're 15X5.5 from a Mini Cooper, yours are better than mine.
I was hoping to see yours lowered a bit more, to where there's little to no gap between the fenders and tires.
My front bumper lip is only 4 inches off the ground, I'd have to lower my car an inch more to achieve that look.

I think the mini cooper wheels are pretty cool too. Idk i like the whole upgrading your car using some trick parts from other cars that work well.

And thanks bro as usual trawling marketplace and found them, Im a sucker for deep dish and ROH have street cred here multiple people have commented on the cool old school wheels, they are usually on old rear wheel drive corollas ahaha.

The tire gap man when I looked at how low my gas tank is to the ground, and all the speed bumps around here plus what the bumps and sometimes pit holes are like on the country roads where I go for holidays to see my family up north makes me think I will need the clearance, i scrapped with the trd set up going up there.

Its about 25mm lower than the trd set up was tho, I still have about 12cm clearance

I would like to fully lower it for beauty pics at a show etc tho.

Need to paint the wheels and the roof and things first.

I have got the start of the dreaded peeling roof, no garage and the New Zealand sun really wrecks cars with thin clear coat so I plan to go gunmetal greay on the front thats already silver and then the roof and wing. Been playing with the design and might even mimic the 2022 yaris with the red and black two tone.

i contemplated just doing a flat black "wrap" up the nose across the roof and around the spoiler

my roof peel isnt bad yet....but at that point i may just scuff n shoot the roof and be done with it

RIGHT????

the new tires ive got..even with it being winter im THROWING this lil car into corners at speeds i shouldnt..and its just carving out, but ive found the limits of the "body" without the rear sway and on the stock front end, real sticky grippy angry 195 60 14s...like i cant even fathom a need for aftermarket struts and springs...which is funny cause i LOVE changing that shit out...

this car just never stops amazing me, i mean my 76 alfetta gt is full race tuned 40mm dellerotos, full track tuned crazy beefy suspension on falkens, ive driven that car angry..and know without a doubt i will chicken out before it does, my 83 gtv6 is also very angry tuned but not to the same bleeding edge, i know its limits..hell my 89 dodge turbo minivan was a riot at its limits

I thought I've posted them before, maybe not... These are pics of the old wrap, but the new one looks exactly the same, apparently the old vinyl I used was for internal use only, which only lasted 9 months before the clear coat on them started to oxidize. The new one is supposedly for external and claims good for 4-6 years:

look confincingly good, tho me id want to use the lowwer grill as my stop point and chase those lines up the hood then do the full roof and onto the center section of my spoiler, i feel like following the flow lines would look better than a whole hood and stopping at the bumper edge

I had to fully wrap my hood, roof, and side mirrors because the paint are all faded, and the hood's jacked up from rock chips damage. It was just experimental at first, but I ended up liking the contrast with the Meteorite Metallic.
Here's what the old wrap ended up looking like, and what the new wrap looks like.

speak for yourself..my wife bought this one NEW...it was either it or a fit...she WANTED the RS manual, but needed a car NOW and anything but either the red yaris or the blue one she bought would have been a minimum of 6 month wait due to stock problems

were just late to the mod party

Bummer you did not wait for the yaris RS they are kind of rare I feel like compared to the Vitz rs. but still sweet to own the car from new. Mine had one owner before trade in and was dealer serviced and everything was accounted for which is almost as nice?? haha:biggrin:

Love them, I have front and rear dampening set to "2" so very firm. Large bumps are a bit stomach jerking but the level of grip and the car having just that right amount of body roll is amazing, you can easily preload the suspension into corners and I have been having such a blast in the car now.

Confidence in the car has increased massivley, can't wait to get a lower rear sway bar as well.

Modified a 17mm to easily fit under the cowling and down into the top strut mount to change front shocks easily.

https://i.gyazo.com/83ab97f624513b6a79e7dab29e94475b.jpg

Changing all the Tein suspension back to the stock TRD suspension today for the warrant of fitness check next week. Changing back to stock rear trailing arm mount points as well.

https://i.gyazo.com/c8dd096dada87ba3e84810aea70c6eea.jpgI sprayed the marks where the brake hose clip had slapped the chassi rail with rust off paint to make sure she stays mint and also touched up any bare metal i could see from stone chips.

Will reinstall the Tein coilovers after and then will certify the coilover along with the seats when I sort them as they can be certified at the same time along with any other minor changes. The brakes I put on are stock and leghal but I could have the upgrade officially noted on the the car as well.

Anyway cleaning the trd set and then putting the car up on jack stands for a saturday of wrenching, pics to come of the trd set cleaned and reinstalled.

Edit: All installed again.
