Hi, Just bought a Yaris mk3 2012

Just wondering what the process is for fixing the lights for the heater controls.
Are they bulbs or LEDs? and are there any online videos of a breakdown/tutorial thanks!

I recently had to replace one of mine and they were T4 NEO wedge bulbs with little orange bulb covers on them. Its quite easy to do but AFAIK there is no dedicated guide.

depending on your dash depends on what covers they have..DO NOT expect to be able to "re-use" the old covers as they tend to rip

remove the panel and look at the back of the units and youll see a lil grey? round plug with a flat head notch in it..give that a 1/4 turn and then they just fall out... pull the bulb from this plug/holder.....its that simple

mines got the blueish dash so my units have blue/green covers

I bought a set of amber T4 NEO LEDs off ebay for like 10 bucks shipped.

Yeah the gen 3s use orange covers(I call them bulb condoms ). I was actually surprised to see them still use incandescent bulbs, everything else on the 3rd gens has LED backlighting.

best i can tell since they use that same "dial and knob" configureation on a bunch of cars scion included..they just stuck with it cause it worked....tho in my switchover to the knurled rings from a scion i discovered that atleast 1 revision of the housing happened that made the rings not interchangeable with "early" housings needing the entire later houseing..and its a super minor change in how the ring mounts and how the stop points "feel" when dialing but are otherwise unchanged
