Hi every one new to the site
Ok its a 2005 Toyota Yaris 1.0 VVT-i Colour Collection 5 Door

and I believe called a MK1 phase 2

Ok Ive removed the old stereo and put in my nice new sony what a improvement but Id like to get the steering wheel controls working but no one makes a exact one for this yaris so Ive brought a Connects2 CTSTY001.2 wat works with a Toyota Yaris With Fujitsu Ten/Matsushita ........

Ok Ive included a pic of the Yaris my dash as was and the 3 plugs from the back of the stereo and bottom pic is the Connects 2 plugs The right plug being the one I think wont fit my plug

I think pug 1A (blue plug) will fit ok and the white 4 pin plug......Its plug 2A with the two wires (pink/silver dash and green/silver dash) ..........that wont fit so .......

1st what are these wires for I presume key 1 and key ????

The corresponding plug (that dont fit) on the Connects2 has 3 wires different colors ......a black which presume is ground and a pink and looks like blue with poss a black line ..............

Happy to cut soldier etc and help PLEASE

The connector with just the three pins is for the steering wheel remote controls. These should be positions 6, 7 and 8 of the 20 positions available in the plug. Looking at the pins in the plug, number 6 all be the one closest to the centre.

These are (pin 6) Steering Switch ground, (pin7) Steering Switch 1 and (pin 8) Steering Switch 2.

The Seek and Volume buttons provide different resistances to Steering Switch ground on the Steering Switch 1 pin. The Mode button shorts Steering Switch 2 to Steering Switch Ground. If you have the phone On/Off hook switch, it provides resistances from Steering Switch 2 to Steering Switch Ground.
