so heres the thing, most of the data youll never truely use, while it might be a nice novelty for a while practicality wise its fairly useless
if your dead set on it, get a cheep tablet and an OBDlink unit, mount the tablet to the glovebox door

i think its the tab7? or tab 8
costco here sells em for about 100$
however since your in au, i suspect costco doesnt exist there....look at "blackview" the tablet they have is a "beefed up" version of the samsung, they build phones and tab's on theire own cases and software but buy, copy and modify the best parts out of some of the bvest phones so you get something tough as nails with all the goodies proven to survive
yes im fully aware blackview is an asian company that most have NEVER heard of, but i got a tip from someone about there phonew a few years back and while they are not the fastests hottest newwest thing out there, the stuff they make can take real world ABUSE...imi hard on phone, really hard on them, and i also get really attached to a design and will run with it as long as i can service it..ie my HTC one S i killed and rebuilt more itmes than i can count
right now i own 3 blackviews bl5000, bl6000 and bv9900 pro, aside from some dings in the main case from tripping and being crashed to the ground ive yet to actualy scratch them, let alone crack a screen...wife went down HARD with the 9900 a few times, even tore her knee on one of the falls to which the phone was sent full speed to the ground, bounced hit again bounced and slid about 40 feet....didnt even hurt it..all 3 units are used as work phones and abused daily
