On a 2015 Yaris, the positive battery terminal has almost failed due to a massive build up of corrosion. I got a new terminal and will also replace the battery as I think it was leaking at the positive terminal.
My concern is the nut holding the wire to the terminal may be very difficult to remove. I have a mini-hack saw to cut the nut.
Any tips or tricks to do this easier? Thank you.

Tap a 6-point socket on to it, it should come loose.

Coat the terminals should be coded with a thick layer of wheel bearing grease. The corrosion will prevent corrosion. Should the battery case leak leak

I got it changed, it was very corroded. It didn't want to budge and it broke in half.
We also got a new battery at Costco which they provided a size 35 which was too tall and we had to go back and get a H5 which did.

You too? How did the battery strap handle that? Is there a chance that you could take a picture of the fusible link? It's under the positive battery cover. Was there anything under that octagonal nut that broke?
