Looks like it's running lean under load. I'd start by cleaning the MAF sensor and then checking the fuel pressure. You might have to scan it and look at live data.

Thanks for this, my daughter has now bought a car with an identical engine as she couldnt wait for it to be fixed, so impatient but it has been three weeks now :tongue: I guess i could try swapping the sensors over to see if that works! good idea with the pressure, is there a simple way to test this?

Most Asian cars do not have fuel pressure test ports on the fuel rail, so the tester has to be hooked up with an adapter that goes between the line and the rail. There might be a kit to rent to check it. Watch this video to get the gist of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=howhgRzQJ3I
