non start yaris automatic

hello everyone, need some help with my wifes car, today it would not start,
turn over the key and nothing, checked battery and i got 12 volts so its not that.
check the codes and only found one code which was a u0100 code which is lost communcation with engine ecu. has anyone had this before???
i left the car overnight and try again but still will not start or turn over with the key, its a werid one. just got no crank.
the car is a yaris 1.33 automatic on a 2010 plate.
any help would be great because my wife needs the car to take the kids to school one more week.

Other than ensuring your battery is indeed healthy, I believe you are in a situation beyond the abilities of a backyard mechanic. Professional help required on this one I fear.

You may want to try a internet search for a Yaris Diagnostic Code. U0100
I found many hits and possible issues. Including the ECM itself or a bus problem.
As pointed out. Unless the battery has issues it points to professional help maybe best.

Since this forum has no documented solution for a U0100, updates would be greatly appreciated by all users past, present and future.
