Can anyone tell me what this receptacle is for?

I had the bumper cover off on my made in Japan 2014 Toyota Yaris LE 4 dr hatchback when I noticed this receptacle (indicated by the red arrow) hanging there on the passenger side.

What purpose does this serve? Is it for some optional piece of equipment? As far as I can tell, I haven't inadvertently unplugged anything.

No I cannot.

But I was in a pile of snow which tore away a plastic underneath my Yaris. I recognize the windshield washer tank! It cost $1000 to fix it.

No, I just had the bumper off so no damage!

Ouch on the repair bill though.
