Silly me, I assumed all new cars had these. My only disappointment when I picked up my Yaris.

Does anyone know where I can get aftermkt ones? Toyota wanted to charge a few thousand to install them.

Thanks, -CB

I hate all that power stuff. The only thing I like is auto tranny otherwise I want manual so it won't break all the time.

It was an option but I didn't know. Like I said, I can't believe it wasn't standard. :)

I searched and found nothing. Then again I'm not good at searching.

There were a few kits I found online before... I think Amazon actually. But I was hoping someone knew about a reputable brand or something.

I bought and installed a kit from Summit for a whopping $150. You have no idea how happy I am I didn't wait all that time for the power package. Yeah, they're a little dirty, but they get the job done. It isn't impossible. It just takes a lot of planning and patience and a very tiny bit of know-how. The kit I have is made by Electric Life. You can buy it at a1electric.com. They also have power door lock kits, keyless entry kits and alarms.

HAHA! Here is your DIY.

[1] Remove half your dashboard, door panels, etc.
[2] Mount your power window motors
[3] Run the worm gear to the stock cranks and choose the correct adapter
[4] Run a zillion miles of wire all over your car
[5] Skin your knuckles somewhere
[6] Curse
[7] Realize you have a backache from stuffing your manly frame under an econobox dashboard
[8] Take some Advil
[9] Curse some more
[10] Give up, run the kit to your 12V and call it a day

Easy enough, right? :bellyroll:

I normally don't care for the power stuff either (especially power windows), but the LB seems so plain interior wise, it's almost as if you have to order it with the power package to put something in there to give its interior some character. Maybe if it came with a tach and cruise control I wouldn't care if it didn't have power windows and locks.

Yes, they're cable actuated. Don't ever call Triple A and expect them to have an easy time bailing your keys out of your car.

I installed the A1electric keyless kit, and it wa a whole afternoon job, mainl because of the poor wiring documentation.
A few weeks ago I left for a week and a freind drop me at the airport with my car, and when she went to pick me up, she locked herself out of the car... the AAA guy told her the Yaris was the hardest car to open he ever worked with!
