How to replace front sway bar bushings?

I tried to replace front sway bar bushings without dropping or lowering the subframe and failed.
Have you done it and how?

I need to change the bushings too. Did it on many cars before, it was always easy. But this... Why Toyota, why? I am worried of damaging a lot when lowering the subframe...
