Good evening all,
Had an odd issue and need some advice. Probably 8 years ago I ordered a cruise control kit from CT Scot and installed it. Absolute breeze and have been happy ever since until about a week ago. Started have an issue where sometime the cruise would arm and work fine and other times where it would not. It finally quit turning on at all 2 days ago. Figured I would grab a new stalk and swap it out and all would be well. NOPE! As a real head scratcher the norn works and no airbag warning lights but the cruise still won't arm unless... I turn the steering wheel all the way to the right or all the way to left. Then I can turn it on but I can't set it. I want to say clock spring but with the horn working is that possible? I mean I guess the horn, just completing a circuit, might still work while the resistance of the cruise stalk could cause issues but I wanted to ask people smarter than me! Thank you for the help and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

There was a recall for the 2007 Yaris on the clock spring.
So they can fail.
I don't have any data on how often it happens or if some year models are more prone to failure.
