Hello,

I'm Thomas from the Netherlands and i've recently bought a Yaris NCP13 with a TTE Compressor. It's not running right, and i hope someone here can point me in the right direction.

It's not delivering the 140-145 hp it should. I don't have hard evidence for this, but the butt dyno tells me, its not right.
Also the belt is not aligned properly, which is strange, as it's a full (but, argueably 2nd hand) kit from TTE. I need to move the supercharger pulley out by 6mm to get it back in line with the crank.
This way i'm shredding belts every 600km at the moment (not ideal).

It's hard to see, but on 1 of the pictures i've included, you can see that the belt is running crooked over the supercharger, almost 1 rib out, and that is after the tensioner pulley has pulled it back in line. If i space the pulley out, the belt comes off the supercharger completely.

Also it's hesitating and even misfiring a little bit every now and then.

i've had an OBD scanner connected to the car, no fault codes stored.
Cleaned the AFM, no improvement
Changed the spark plugs (where manky), no improvement
Disconnected the VVT-i solenoid, no change in running at idle (but havent driven with it disconnected). Tested the solenoid with a 12V supply and it does click.
Changed the stupid CAI the car came with for a standard intakebox with K&N air filter, no improvement.

I really like this car, it's my new daily driver, but right now i can't trust it with shredding belts every other week.

Anyone has tips?

Thanks!
Thomas

first, get the belt aligned.
second, are you sure its tuned for a sc?
third, how much boost is it making?
fourth, check timing, it might be off, you never know.
fifth, long shot but exhaust might be clogged due to a failed cat.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply!

Just recently i got the belt allignment issues fixed (it was the bracket where everything is bolted to which was mounted with the wrong spacers throwing it all out of whack).

The piggyback ECU is a part of the TTE tuning kit, so i'm pretty sure it's tuned for the SC, which is making 0,5 bar of boost. I think that's a healthy number.
Timing i haven't checked, yet.
Cat might be, but it just passed our annual check with flying colours and no errors pointing to something wrong with the cat, but i will check it.

Simple question to which you can provide a simple answer.
Are you running premium fuel? TTE/Blitz doesn't like low octane fuel.
Also, your hp expectations of 140-145 are quite high.

I'm running 98RON fuel, as i should according to TTE.
And 140-145 is what i heard, in the mean time i found a TTE brochure which states 140hp.

I'm getting closer to it, I found a hole in the manifold last week. Must have been there all along, but got big enough to cause bigger issues last week. Feels better then before, is running better.
Slowly getting somewhere.
