i everyone,

I’m upgrading the audio in my **2016 Toyota Yaris (4-door, automatic, Canadian model)** and need advice on two things:

### **1. Replacing Door Speakers (No Cutting, OEM Connectors)**
I want to replace the factory speakers **without cutting any wires** or damaging clips/panels. Here’s what I need:
- **Speaker adapters**: Which **harness adapters** (e.g., Metra 72-8104?) and **mounting brackets** fit the 2016 Yaris doors?
- **Step-by-step tips**: How to safely remove door panels (especially the front doors)? Any hidden clips/screws I should know about?
- **Polarity**: How to confirm +/- wires without a multimeter?

### **2. Running Amp Power Wire (Battery to Trunk)**
I’m installing an amp in the trunk and need to route **4-gauge power wire** from the battery. Questions:
- **Firewall passthrough**: Where’s the best grommet to use behind the glovebox? (Photos would help!)
- **Routing path**: Along the sill panels or under the carpet? Any tricky spots to avoid?
- **Grounding**: Best grounding point near the trunk?

**Additional Info:**
- I’m in Canada (cold winters – any wire insulation tips?).
- I’d prefer **OEM-friendly solutions** (no cutting/drilling if possible).

Thanks in advance! Photos, links to adapters, or personal experience with this gen Yaris would be *hugely* appreciated.

Metra 72-8104 should be the correct adapter harness for your car.

If I remember right, the speakers in our 3rd gens are riveted on and will need to be drilled out.

I live in Alberta, -40s are the norm during winter, whatever insulation comes from the factory should be sufficient for Montreal.

This dude has a bunch of really good guides on maintenance stuff regarding 3rd gens, give his site a look.

I can't help you about amp power, audio mods aren't my thing outside of a good set of speakers. lol
