I have a 2013 Toyota Yaris 1.4 D4-D, and I'm experiencing a humming or growling noise when the clutch pedal is not pressed. As soon as I press the clutch pedal, the noise disappears completely.
I had the same noise even before replacing the clutch, and I initially thought it was caused by a worn clutch. However, after having the clutch replaced recently, the noise is still present.
This makes me think the issue might be something else, like the dual-mass flywheel or maybe something in the gearbox — perhaps the input shaft bearing?
I've attached a video recording of the noise for reference. Any ideas or advice would be appreciated!
