also I got quote lilttle under $200 to install my 4 speakers plus a powered sub.

is that a good price?

should I even attempt to do it myself?

Alright, thats good to know about the bracket.

is installation worth 200 bux?

i think I rather have them install it and be done with it....time is precious to me.

did you rip out the stock speaker and its built in mount, or did you hack out the center and use it as a mount?

shop around Blen. If I were close I'd help you for free! YamilR got a good deal. I bet the noise is way reduced.

I just ended up hacking out the middle of the rear speakers and screwing the 6 1/2 in the stock basket. it fit fine, suprisingly!

And if 6.5" is not big enough... you could always get a 8" *sub*.

HAhahahahah!!

(sub = substitute)

What tools do I need to rip and remove the stock speaker out of the stock mount and put the new 6 1/2 in?
Will I be able to do it with just scissors, knife, screw drivers, speaker wires, and electrical tape?

u could prolly get by with those tools, but a dremel would be best to cut the speaker out.

I recently replaced all 4 with 6 1/2" Polk db651 and removed the old speakers completely and just used the 1/4" thin plastic rings that came with the Polks and they fit just fine even though Crutchfield said they would NOT fit. Plenty of room for the tweeters and the magnets.
