If I but a indash dvd and want to bypass ability to watch dvd while driving, there is a way to do this. Can anyone share the trick? Does it matter the brand I buy for this to work?

Pioneer has made it mostly impossible on the new units.
My kenwood works great just grounding the parking brake wire.

Different brands it is just in the way you ground it, but others you have to actually crack the cd player open and do something to the internals.

My pioneer was different. It noticed that I left it permanantly left it on ground. So if I turn it off and back on, it wants you to open the circuit, and then close it again. So i put mine on a switch.

you could install a switch inplace of running it to the handbrake switch or park switch so if you get pulled over you can turn it off so the cop cant give you a ticket

How about a diagram of the wiring to the switch, could come in handy for me. Does anyone know the units that may need opened up, so I can stay clear of them. Not that I will watch DVD's while driving:wink:

huh?? are you serious about the wiring diagram? :)
that handbrake wire.. you simply need to put a switch on it.. so it would look like this..
headunit handbrake wire --------> switch <---- ground .. :D
