Is this going to be a full bumper, or an add-on lip? I think it would look ok fully integrated, but the extra lip just adds too many lines and bulges IMO...

just an add on lip bro

Is it going to be front and rear lips with the side skirts?

I am interested, but I was kind of hoping for the YRX look lip kit you know the one you can get from Thailand that flares out as opposed to a square lip. Anyway, if its for front and back w/side skirts I'd definitely have an interest.

lip will be ready roughly in mid to end next month

heres a breakdown of the price

the box postage cost by DHL door to door service to any 1 location in USA or Canada, which is very fast will cost US$210

this box can put up to 2 front lip and 1 rear spoiler maximum

1 x front lip = US$130[forum price] US$150 [retail]. (painting service @ US$65 , color code required, optional), abs material (not traditional fiberglass)

1 x rear spoiler (either RS or the original style)= US$60 (painting service @ US$50 , color code required, optional), abs material (not traditional fiberglass)

example 1 front lip + 1 rear spoiler unpainted will be , US$130 (front lip )+ US$60 (rear spoiler) + US$210 (shipping cost) to your door step

ask the shipping company, or go online and check the price yourself...its because the box he is using is huge...

The shipping price he is quoting is accurate, that is more or less what it would have cost if I had sent individual spoilers by DHL for the last group buy...

I'm in, just PM me when you're ready. You mention the rear, but are there pics of that?

I'll probably have mine molded to the bumper, so no paint for me.

product price + shipping = total price

should be clear enough? well why is shipping so expensive because its across the country :) , the shipping is already the best price, because lip is oversize and that local post office do not take it thus we have to go to company like DHL, FEDEX etc etc, thus the higher cost, and they go by volume weight

how to save cost? easy
get more people around your area to get it, i will ship to one location, that will definitely save u a lot of cost as the shipping cost can be shared :)

This lip looks awesome! Just like the Toyota Taiwan one.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of ABS over fibreglass?

critical
06-30-2007, 11:13 PM
Fiberglass will crack over time due to the stresse of the assembly. ABS is also harder to break in an accident where fiberglass will shatter.

ABS is in the plastic group , its surface is smooth and after painting it will be beautiful and do not have wavy effect as compare to painting a fiberglass surface

I would be interested when you have a full kit and would be interested in sharing the shipping cost with anybody in the NY/NJ tri state area.

What does the ABS actually stand for? Did you actually make a mold for this? I'm a tool and die guy and I'm curious as to how you manufactured such a nice looking part.

That is simply not true. Well-fabricated fiberglass can be as good as (and sometimes better than) ABS for certain applications.

Fiberglass will only crack if there's an impact, or if it doesn't fit correctly and it's forced to be in a certain position. Fiberglass does not "shatter".

Fiberglass can be fixed/mended to look like new in case of an impact, whereas with any plastic (be it ABS or urethane) this is very difficult, if not impossible.

Also, the "wavy effect" that critical mentions can happen to any surface that is not completely smooth. That applies to ABS as well is it's not fabricated correctly.
