There is a small factory just outside of Houston, TX that makes replicas and repairs and restores the original ones: http://www.delorean.com

They also sub some work out to a shop in Arlington, TX.

We have called AutoZone before and asked for a flux capacitor for a GMC DElorean. THe guy just laughed but we stayed serious and asked where we could get one.

wtf is that car? such big deal?

It's all about the lines, bro... I love the way it looks. And the gullwing doors are just too cool for words.
It looks like something out of a Syd Mead (http://www.sydmead.com/) illustration:

my neighbour at my old place had a delorean sitting in his driveway for years, must not have been road-worthy because it just sat there (NOT collecting rust :) )

i've since checked to see if it was still there, but it was gone.

I don't know about the replica's but I do know or read that the originals even when "improved" weren't that great. Don't get me wrong I like the Deloren as well but function wise, not that friendly as a daily driver...it wasn't effecient, also it doesn't have that great of a track record as far as reliability, and it lacked enough power for its weight but it was still a good car and very unique.

you have to add the FLUX CAPACITOR on it then ull travel faster than the speed of light!!!:bellyroll:

apparently for the n.american market, the engine only produced about 140 hp.

it looks a bit dated now, but the car is still beautiful.

yes back in the day it had potential, but mr. delorean spent to much money buying and selling coke...imagine what we could have now if delorean was still around...

140 hp will get you to 88 mph, that's all you need

Only the outer body panels are brushed stainless steel. The DeLorean is just as capable of rusting from the inside out as any other car.

The DMC-12 was a car ahead of its time, conceptualized by a visionary who basically told the entire automotive industry to fuck themselves. How many other people can say that?

One day I will be living the dream.

No, no, this sucker's electrical, but I need a nuclear
reaction to generate the 1.21 jigowatts of electricity I need.

What did I just say?

1.21 jigowatts?! 1.21 jigowatts. Great Scott!!!

Hey Doc...What the hell is a jigowatt?

How could I have been so careless? 1.21 jigowatts, Tom?

How am I gonna generate that kind of power? It can't be done, can it?

Doc look, all we need is a little plutonium!

Ohh! I'm sure that in 1985, plutonium is available at every corner drug store, but in 1955 it's a little hard to come by. Marty, I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you're stuck here.
