Looking for a navi unit, I have the 4dr sedan - what do you guys think of the Kenwood DNX7100...

The option that is driving me is a good real time traffic unit

pioneer avic-d3 or eclipse avn5510. the avic-z2 is nice, but no bypass has been found yet that allows for on-the-go navigation input and on-screen dvd playback. but to be perfectly honest, the small portable units like magellan or tom tom have much better navigation logic (quicker routes, better re-routing, etc...). i just like the factory feel and entertainment capacities of a double-din unit...

I'll be getting the pioneer avic-d3 installed by friday with the bypass.

I'll let you know how it is.

I have the Kenwood. Easy to bypass and NAv is by Garmin. I have used Pioneer and many others but I think Garmin has the best nav system.

I suggest the Alpine IVA-W205 and the Blackbird 2 since it Docks inside the Deck. www.alpine-usa.com

On my Scion, I have the Kenwood, the nav is flawless. Even takes me off the freeway onto surface streets to save a few minutes here and there in rush traffic. The graphics are clean and I've never had a problem. I run XM radio (with NavTraffic), hands-free bluetooth and a back-up camera through it also.

I'll get the same thing for my Yaris when I get around to the audio system.

You don't need to go further than the Garmin Nuvi series to find something that'll work well and incorporate traffic updates as well.

If you're feeling spendy you can look to the Streetpilot series some of which incorporate a dead reckoning feature if you lose the GPS signal.

i've used pioneer and eclipse (i'm on my 2nd eclipse AVN) and although the pioneer fit and finish is better, it got me more lost than the eclipse. the eclipse also had more features overall. I haven't bought one of these in a couple of years so things may have changed. I tried using a new pioneer with real-time traffic but it just didn't seem intuitive enough to me. i've never heard of a kenwood navi so i can't help there. the hard part has got to be installing this thing. I installed it into my impreza in about 1.5 hours, but I'm really concerned about installing it into the yaris today.

I have to say that i love the Blackbird 2 / IVA-w205 combination . . . my sirius radio feeds it traffic data . . .

I currently have three Garmins, and love them all. I keep my 2610 in the Titan, my Garmin V is on my motorcycle, and I have a little i3 in my HB. There are reconditioned 2610s now for $199.00, complete with the latest version of software. Highly recommend
