Just finished fitting it today. Pretty easy, I would rank it a 1 on the skill level. If you can use a die-grinder and a drill, you can install this kit.

Really sharp. Did they come black? If so, thats nice... better in the meantime before you can get them painted than the grey jobbers. Congratulations!

Tanabe DF springs. I need stiffer shocks though. Anyone have the TRD ones, are they any good? So far I'm not impressed with anything TRD.

The kit comes in that gloss black ABS.

I paint ;) It's going to cost me under $100 to do the job. Not a biggie if it gets messed up.

yes, i have the TRD Sportivo shocks. they're great. i have them with the Tein S.Tech's. i've had a crap load of weight in the car, and it never bottomed out. actually, i had only the front struts installed at first, and my Yaris was understeering pretty bad, but when i finally got the rear shocks installed, everything balanced out. i recommend the shocks.

How much are the shocks and struts? Do they come in a pair, and can they be used with the sedan and the liftback? Also I was curious if it raised your suspension lowered it or kept it the same ride height.

Sorry for all the questions, but I was going to purchase a set and needed to find someone with them already.

i got the TRD shocks here...

http://www.toyotapartsstore.com/default.php?cPath=191_192&osCsid=94d3310f0ad93acd04dabd601bb96b24

when i bought it, it came out to be around $320. they come with a pair of struts for the front and a pair of shocks for the rear. they can be used for both the LB and the sedan (i think all suspensions parts are interchangeable between the LB and the sedan). i think it may have lowered it since a lot of people think i'm using coil overs and not just the Tein S.Tech springs. not really sure on that, but i am sure that it made a big difference in dampening. it's cool, i don't mind the questions, i like helping people out when ever i can.

Thanks for the info. I was curious about the ride height because I wasnt for sure if they were the same height as the stock struts and shocks. I have the NF210's and just wanted to make sure that if I added the shocks and struts it wouldnt lower it anymore then it already is.

Shocks wont lower or raise the car.

I will take some pics of the side skirts up close later. They do have a recessed spot for the Kaminari badge, you can easily fill it though! :)

i was thinking that too, but i just don't understand why people think i have coilovers...i mean shocks absorb shocks  (i.e. pot holes and imperfections on the road, right)? don't really see how it will lower or raise a car...people make me second guess myself

the trd sportivo shocks lover your ride 1.2

Tanabe NF210's and TRD sportivo shocks and struts (the wheels are 15x6.. i believe.. my stock 15" tires fit these)

Mate.... I love the look of the kit and I can't wait to see it on. As your car is the same colour and shape as mine you may have swayed me towards this kit. Was also thinking a set of 18 inch rims (g.max solaris).. but I don't know if that would be overkill and if 17s would be enough... Can't wait to see the finished product. Can you please take some profile pics, front, back, etc etc.

Cheers
Pete

so it does lower the car?

That car doesnt look dropped 2.5". I believe hes trying to say the springs lowered the car 1.2".

That car doesnt look dropped 2.5". I believe hes trying to say the springs lowered the car 1.2".

i'm confused...where did that 2.5" come from? i think we're getting off topic here. lol...

Turbo&Auto
07-11-2007, 10:25 PM
You wanted to find out if sport shocks lower the car, I told him no. This guy above says they do, but he also says he has springs, which lower the car. If the shocks lower 1.2" and I believe those springs are the same, 1.2". See what I'm saying now?

phew........

Kit's done and on. Its a shade lighter then the car though :( I painted the spoiler on the car with the same paint using the exact same method, so I'm a lil confused. It came out so nice, I dont want to repaint it. I dont think I will get this lucky twice LOL!

The kit looks really good Turbo&Auto. Are you pleased with the fit and finish Kaminari has achieved with this kit?

I will say that the combination of 17" rims, DF's and that lip kit has given your car what is pretty much a perfect stance. Very nice!

No, prolly overspray or compound splattered around LOL!

Thanks for the nice words :) I'm really pleased with it. The finish out of the mold was excellent, I just scuffed them, primed and painted. The fit was pretty good, there's a couple lil things that I think could be a lil better but its 98% perfect.
