all that will help but i don't know what kind of frame you have that is what truly determines what you can do but if you eat right and lift heavy you will grow no matter what:thumbsup:

get yourself some Vitol egg protein powder this is the easiest way to get about a dozen egg whites in a day, and get some whey protein, regular potatos are good but sweet potatos are best get some of both

like I said before I take in creatine and glutamine, these are both important for increasing mass

you should be eaating every 2-3 hours, 5-6 times a day

The routine is as follows:

"You wanna coke?" (or cold drink)
"Sure!"
"What kind?"
"I'll have a Coke!" (or root beer, or whatever)

Not kidding, have heard this exact conversation so many times. Ah, the South...so silly...

yeah, i have a rather skinny frame (i think i weigh 125-130lbs tops). man, i don't have time to work out anymore :frown: because of work and summer school.

where can i buy Vitol egg protein powder? and where can i get some creatine and glutamine (you probably answered this in my other thread).

i only eat 3-4 times a day...:frown: and my class is from 5-9 pm everyday (for the most part).

if you are not going to work out there is no point in loading on protein, you have to make time, an hour a day is very sufficient if you work and don't waste your time, you don't need to waste time doing cardio, you need to lift

drink water I drink a gallon + a day

you can spend a little more time and do split routines and not have to do five days but I break mine up by muscle

shoulders, arms, legs, back, chest

cardio on the weekends 'cuz I'm kinda padded right now tipping the scale at 220 6'1

supplementcentral.com has the best stuff for the best price in my opinion but don't throw your money away if you are not going to lift, it will be a waste

hmmmm, i think i'll stick to the potatoes and eggs for now. after summer school, i'll get the creatine and what nots because i'll be able to work out again.

(i really need to get an A in this o-chem class so i can get into the nursing program.)

I understand. This is somethign that you have to be very commited to also if you want to see results. I work with a guy who weighs about 135-40 and he goes off and on supplements and wonders why he can't gain and he works out one week and then skips a week or two. You will never see results this way. You can get your A and blast yourself with workouts especially if you have the equipment at home like I do. Everyone has an hour to spare. The choice is your's. You can pack bars and shakes and yogurt, trail mix stuff like that also counts as meals.

what about those bars that help protein absorption? i bought some of those and finished it, and i'm thinking about getting some more. is that a good idea?

i'll start working out when i know i can be committed to it...damn daily quizzes and homework!

you should get only a "normal" amount of protein, that is only what a sedentary person of your stature should be eating if you are not going to work out

bars are fine but they are expensive, I supplement with whey powder and egg powder and don't bother with bars, they can be total meal replacement or a snack depending on caloric content, nothing wrong with them but I can think of things I'd rather eat

basically what I am saying is don't spend any money on any of this stuff if you are not going to be working consistantly

eat normal meals and try to eat more often (5-6 times a day!) and eat your brain food since that is all you are using right now

there is always the option of doing split routines, you can do shoulders/arms, legs, back/chest; this will only take three mornings or evenings from your schedule and you can compress these workouts into an hour easily if you are efficient and do not take breaks

with a pair of dumbbells and an adjustable bench, a pull up bar, some push ups you can do everything you need, you can even do squats with dumbbells at your side, this is a small investment and you can improve your build at home on your schedule

quit pissing in the wind and get to work!

haha well i've read some horror things about diet soda. in fact, regular soda is probably better than diet Something to do with what they put into diet. I've read stuff about it.. just don't know where they are and plus, to me, diet doesn't taste like anything. but that's all difference of opinion

I'm considering buying a faucet mounted water filter but I read many reviews where people complain about the filters not lasting very long or the filter leaks. I'm tired of carrying and storing the gallon jugs and I think I could save a bit of money by going to a filter system. Anyone have a faucet mounted filter system? What brand and how happpy are you with it?

By the way...I usually drink Diet Pepsi or Diet Mt. Dew. :drinking:

Hubby used to be in the soft drink biz: the best water filters are the in-line, under-the-sink type. More expensive to buy & install, but filters better (removes more junk) & cartridges last longer.

I refuse to drink soda - All those frikkin bubbles just make me want to puke. Fruit juice, watered down just a little to allow for the fact that it is not watered enough at the factory when they "reconstitute" the concentrate so you'll drink more.
I also hate water on its own if there is any alternative. Bottled water is just a rip-off, so I avoid that.
In general, then, I am pretty much dehydrated most of the day
