Johnny Depp has serious cool factor as far as someone who is among the living. All of the really cool people are dead.

In no particular order: Albert Einstein, Hunter S. Thompson, Nicola Tesla, Kevin Spacey, Mahatma Gandhi... and me, of course.

Well, I'm not -that- self absorbed. I thought this topic may interest people a little more than it did but apparently I was wrong. So far only one real response. Well, will see.

I guess "cool factor" means very different things to different people. Very few people do I find really ultra cool. To me you have it or you don't.

I guess you mean attitude? To me cool is someone that takes on all the responsibility that life has and still finds time to treat others as they deserve. I personally would give everything to assure that no child ever suffers abuse again and can see a future worth living.

Yeah, I just mean any interview with Andy Warhol, Johnny Depp in Crybaby and in all the interviews I've ever seen him do, Maroln Brando in the Wild One and other antics throughout his life earn him cool with me, and of course Elvis was and still is just plain fucking cool.
Anyone you think is cool is totally subjective but these people are the kings of cool to me.:smoking:

I like how Andy always answered questions with " I don't know."
that's so fucking cool, that should be the answer for everything, I'm gonna start saying that all the time
I kind of thought you would say something like...
Wayne Newton
Dale Earnhardt Sr.
and Mr. T

i think Che Guevara is cool. not because of "communism", which in reality is not what he was about, but for the status he achieved while trying to help people all over the world liberate themselves from oppresion.
i think Julio Iglesias was cool. he was the Frank Sinatra of the spanish world, man he could make the panties drop like crazy.
and then Carlito Brigante from the 'carlitos way/after hours" book, not the movie. he knew what cool was about. he was always "fresh" driving his white Lincoln down the South Bronx...

Dad's side German and don't know how clean their blood was but his Dad owned the cargo airline that was the death of Lynard Skynard or so the story goes. I met him once when I was 19.
Mom's side Portuguese her parents came over on a boat during or shortly after World War 2 and settled in New Jersey. She's got a major rap sheet. She was pregnant with me in Lou Sterrett jail and I met her when I was about 20 or so and talk with her from time to time.
Parents met in college she was posing as a nude model in one of his art classes. He now does advertising stuff for McDonald's. They don't speak.
I got stories.

+1 on the Johnny Depp.
Also, I'm a big fan of George Michael. Sure, he's gay now, but the dude had so many women he just got bored. Gotta' respect that!
And Prince. Dude has an unbelievable vocal range, plays over 30 different instruments, and is probably the horniest little bastard on the planet. Couldn't ask for a more entertaining combination!
Wait a sec... why are all my heroes so effeminate? Interesting....... :iono:

Here are some of my favorites that I consider cool from movies and music, since I've never actually met any of them.
Steve McQueen(Papillion), Clint Eastwood(Dirty Harry) and Charles Bronson(Death Wish)!
Jimi Hendrix, Robert Plant, Brian Ferry (Roxy Music - dated a lot of hotties)
David Byrne from Talking Heads as well.
But the coolest of all wuld have to be Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet! hehe "Mommy... baby wants to fuck!" "Heineken! Fuck that shit! PABST BLUE RIBBON!"
BLue Velvet is one screwed up, but awesomely cool movie! :headbang:

Wow, quite a list!
I love John Waters movies. Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble...
And speaking of Andy Warhol, did anyone ever see his movie 'Bad'? That is one sick but hilarious movie. One of my favs but I cant find it anywhere. The opening line is "Tab, Tab, Tab! Why does it always have to be Tab?" It's a mother making her son drink Tab. hehe Some very disturbing stuff in this movie, but very cool too.

maybe not released on dvd, jed johnson was the director so that's why I hadn't found it, looks like he did some other work with andy in the other films
I'll have to check it out. Too bad I tossed my VCR I could probably find a copy of it on tape. Same problem with Stranger Than Paradise and Night on Earth by Jarmusch, not released on DVD yet:cry:
