TRD Sportivo with Tanabe NF210's and cut bump stops?

i recently installed my sportivo shocks and struts. and the Tanabe NF210's and have realized.. going over bumps... depending on the depth my tires will rub the wheel well plastic liner thing... its happening alot recently and im thinking its because i followed what the paper said for the springs.. cut the bump stops... but i think i did not take into consideration that the shocks lower the car a little also... so i ordered new bump stops... and before i go and rent a spring compesser and whatnot i wanna get someone else's opinion on this matter first

The bump stops do not change your ride heigth. This has been debated before. If Toyota told you to cut the bump stops then they should be cut. This will save your dampers.

How fast are you going when you hit these bumps?

I had the same "issue" at first.. you just need to tuck and secure your liners better. Toyota had the fantastic idea of a few plastic push pins here, and few push pins there. :rolleyes:

If you have ever removed your front bumper, you would see how flimsy the liners are, and how much they do move around.

Granted I am still lower then you, so you can just picture the little rub here and there that I had over BIG dips.

the springs told me to cut them.. the shocks..did not come with any papers... except the badge lol but anyway yeah im check with toyota and ask them.. ill tell them the sitiation see what they say then ill try to get in touch with tanabe and do t he same

your rub has nothing to do with your bump stops..... READ ABOVE.

What size tires are you running in the rear?

Im over 2" lower out back on the stock 15's, and have GOBS of room before anything rubs.. even when ive had a ton of shit in the back.

I'm all the way down on the Tein Basics and no worries in the rear at all. You sure you're rubbing or just hearing noises? A piece of gravel bouncing inside the wheel well sounds like a goddamn shot gun goin off in these cars.

Are the Toyota wheels you have, the same offset and backspace as the steelies were?

Are you 100% sure its the rear giving you the noise?

i belqave the toyota 7 spoke are 15x6.. or thats what the box said..im not quite sure the offset i would have to find out....but what ever.. i can live with it thanks for the help tho

The rear of these yaris's both sedan and hatch seem to be just rubbing in the rear as did my 17's and I have read many other posts with different size tires and rims that rub in the rear.
