Hi all,
Is there anyone out there that has purchased or has a date for receiving a hatchback with power package that lives in the northeastern United States. Dealers keep telling me that it is next to impossible for me to order this car because they are not building it like this now and that I can only get the convenience package. Please I need some feedback!
Thanks

I think that is bull. You should be able to order a car with whatever features you want. They proabably are just trying to sell you what they have access to. My dealer tried to talk me out of a Yaris and into an 04 or 05 corolla. I guess there is more profit on the "pre-owned" inventory.

I just got mine 3 days ago. Lift back 5spd with power and six airbags. I had to wait 6 weeks. I live in NC. I would think you should be able to get what you want if you put down a deposit and are willing to wait. Thats what I did.

The problem now is that the dealers have no say in what the factory sends them. Which is why the dealership will try to sell you what they have access to. I was lucky enough to get one with a power package on May 24th, and at the time the dealership had 2. To my knowledge those were the only two in Maryland at the time. You can order one but I was told when looking that it would be 6-8 weeks.

You shouldn't have much problem in New York all the Yaris' for the northeast go to Jersey before being distributed.

South Jersey here,
Ordered a liftback with power package two months ago.
Last word is that my dealer is exchanging something they have with a dealer in VIRGINIA to get me this car.
About two weeks ago they told me I'm looking at about 30 more days.
At the time I "ordered", this dealer had never had or ordered one and could seem to get the codes right or they just didn't know what they were doing.
Now they say that they had no idea it was going to take so long.
I'll believe it when I see it.
I actually did get to finally see a liftback in person at another dealer.
Could have had that one but it was white, with auto, manual locks and windows. As much as I wanted to, I want to wait and get what I want to begin with. That dealer thought that one would be gone in a day. A week later i went by and it was still there. I do know that I am going to love mine.
Meanwhile, the wait is eternal. . . . . .

If Toyota expects to sell many of these they had better start distributing more of them. I talked to about 15 Toyota Dealerships before find what i wanted. I thought all the salesguys were b.s.ing me about "limited availability". My brother decided to get a new Civic coupe instead of waiting any longer on the Yaris, and i personally think he made the best choice  . Don't get me wrong, i like my liftback, but it's extremely lame to not be able to get what i want, or even locate it because the dealerships are hesitant to let these cars go to other dealerships except on a mutually beneficial trade  . That's how i found mine, a dealership 5 hours away wouldn't send my car to my local dealership..i ended up going and buying it from them

Chris,
Cumberland County.
I live near Vineland and have been dealing with Toyota of Vineland.
That picture of the white liftback came from Shore Toyota in Mays Landing near the Hamilton Mall.
