I was just looking around at some front strut tower bars and found this:
http://www.wesellcarparts.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=5038
Is this the same thing as a normal strut tower bar? its only $56 so Im wondering why if it is...
is it the same thing as:

Those are the same ones I saw on ebay. The ebay ad doesn't say they are megan's, but what they shipped me sure was. I purchased the mid & rear braces for about $67 w/shipping. I held off on buying the front brace because C-ONE makes a 4-point brace.

I got them and noticed the difference right away. The times I notice it mostly is on roads like CA-29, curvy as all hell or on the freeway going around corners over 80mph. I only have the mid and rear though. They compliment many suspension upgrades. I would say go for it, the price is good. I would pass on the front brace as C-ONE and a couple other make a superior 4-pt brace (although they are horribly expensive compared to the megan)

where does this bar connect if not on top of the towers?

Hope the pics help. They are from the seller on E-bay that sells these. Although no instructions are included (at least with mine) it is pretty straight forward to install. I just backed my car up on ramps, blocked the front tires and had both of them installed in about 20 min. I had a harder time with the rear bar, but after looking at the picture a couple of times I figured it out. With the rear bar you use existing bolts that help hold up the gas tank, and for the mid they provided the hardware. Not sure on the front bar, but it looks as if you use the existing bolts. It's a quick, cheap & easy mod. Below are the pics of the bars I received. Even got stickers!

Not sure exactly as I didn't get the front megan bar, and I had the strut bar on before the megans. I can say I did notice the additional difference after the install along with the strut bar and 17" wheels. I haven't tried removing the strut bar to see what the megans did by themselves. If your really serious just go for the mid & rear, and skip on the front. A 4-point brace up there would do more good but it is pricey. I'm sure the front one works, but probably not as well as the 4-point setup. I wish Megan had come out with the 4-point, I would have bought that already. I just can't afford right now to shell out $280 for the C-ONE when I would rather spend that money on the TRD springs and struts.
Here is the beatrush brace:

Available at C2 for $256
Here is the C-ONE:

Also beatrush has a center bar for about $44:

Honestly I'm not sure. I guess you could look underneath at the mounting points and maybe get an idea that way... And apparently WeSellCarParts found out from megan that megan hasn't released the tie bar, someone was ripping off their name. Not sure as I haven't called megan. But regardless, mine were made well and the welds were good.

Yeah i didn't see these on the megan site..so i was naturally suspicious...
turns out another guy on a different thread mentioned something about megan saying that they havebn't even released this product...so its someone using their name? Not too sure...i want to clarify this before i make any purchases...

would the c-one 4 point under brace fit our USDM yaris? the chasis code for the JDM yaris is NCP91 i believe and our chasis code is NCP31.

I dunno... Here is the link http://www.c2auto.com/toyotayarissuspchasc1fpb.html
c2auto was a vendor here I believe... Maybe still is. I sent a email to the site and I will post their response on this thread as soon as it is received. Does anyone know if Megan has plans for a 4-point brace?

we have a NCP91 not 31.....
I can guarantee that all the C-ONE performance bars fit the USDM Yaris. I dont know how the megan bars work but I have all the C-ONE products on my car. The difference can be felt immediately. Its perfect for a daily driven car with minor mods. I would totally recommend all these products despite their cost. They are expensive in comparison to megan products, but you have to see that these products are Manufactured in Japan with superior quality. C-ONE Japan studies their products and applies actual racing data in creating their products. Here are a couple of other products which you may find interesting.

This is the Rear performance bar and it replaces the rear bumper beam... in addition to stiffening the chassis it reduces weight =) very good product.

This product is pretty cool too, goes under the engine bay and prevents any foreign shit from getting stuck in there =)
Once again I'd like to point out the superior quality in all of C-ONE products, pricey but they're good, you definitely wont be disappointed

Coolness. Thanks for letting us know. I really do want the C-ONE 4-point brace, but It's going to have to wait for the TRD springs and struts first.

Yup. Someone on here on another thread had mentioned possibly making their own at their work but it fizzled. Seems nice, but unless it has a way to make it quick release, it would make oil changes a pain.

The underpanel is easily removed. Its a total of about 6-8 screws and it pops out. With a lift its easy enough, 5 minutes max to remove. Among the C-one one products its one of my favorite.
yea i was thinking i can make one as well

Back to my earlier post about emailing C2, I got a response:
Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry.
As for the C-one front performance bar, its fits the USDM yaris without modifications. Sold a few of these bars already.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.
Thanks

The Megan Racing bars are out. Per a conversation with my rep there, not 1 has sold yet. A few people have received fakes on ebay and are actually urged to call Megan Racing to get a dispute going against the guy selling the mislabeled items.
We have authorized Megan Racing items and they are listed in the forums as well as our site.
Thanks

Not to rain on any ones parade, but i think we know megan's quality is a shortcut to the quality shit, honestly they'r quality has bee verry disapointing..
cheap company with not a lot of R&D experience..
personal preference i guess.. would rather do something right and get the top knotch stuff...
especially since i have that extra cash from saving gas on the little yaris
megans stuff brakes.. my coilovers.. gone.. turbo manifold.. broke.. i mean even a strutbar? they suck:barf:
more than one product all need to be replaced..? pffft thats what i get for being cheap on the 180sx

:laughabove: You damn "joiner"!
I have the MR coilovers on my car, and yeah, they're no Ohlins, but the guys at TEIN were total DICKS when we called them. None of the things I have seen compare to my old Neuspeed GLI, but they all seem to do the job.
I would put the Megan frame braces on because it's a stupid part consisting of very little engineering... and then spend the money you save on real parts where quality matters.

i only put them on cause they were blue and matched my car.....
So I bought the one off Ebay for shits and giggles. There was no sign that they were Megan re-badged or anything like that. The only thing similar was probably the blue paint (which was crappy paint btw). Anyways I got it on Monday...and decided to paint it red. It finally dried and I installed today. The installation was almost as easy as the NST SSK
Basically,
1) line it up
2) remove bolts
3) place bar
4) put bolts back.
I know this might cause controversy but I felt a difference. Especially on the front end. On Sunday (8/5) I was at an autox event and the front end was all "loosie goosie" Now it turns like a dart. Now I just need Tanabe to produce some more Front Strut Bars!!!
