Twice, I have had people tell me that I have no tail lights. I keep forgetting to turn the lights on. Our Scion TC turns itself on and off. Is there a way to setup the Yaris like this? :iono:

You can buy an "auto light on sensor".

Google it you'll find them.

is there a purpose for those day lights?

They are for safety reasons so other drivers can see you better on the highway (esp. at dusk or in shadows). Still didn't stop someone from cutting in front of my car and smashing it though in town. I personally like them, I just have to remember to turn the lights fully on at night. Here is the wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daytime_running_lamp

AGREED. with those horns, it sounds like a silly clown car. I'm working on getting some big air horns so people will stop being buttheads on the road.

I totally agree. I think it's the exact same horn as my '04 Yamaha Zuma scooter. When I install my intake this weekend I'm going to pull the horn off of my burnt LeBaron. At least that doesn't sound like Road Runner.

Dont get me wrong, I would like them if they would automaticly turn on the headlights after dark. My problem is with the lack of tail lights. Crusing at 60 mph down the I-10 at 1AM might get me killed without tail lights.

ya the problem with them is that they're SO bright that they can be easily mistakened for headlights.

Yes, it is particularly bad if your car is in a garage and you start it and the DRLs come on brightly against the wall. Of course your mind says the lights are on. I once drove from Surprise AZ to Sky Harbor airport down I-10 (about 25 miles) with no tail lights. Lucky I wasn't rear ended. Still like the DRLs though.

Tell me about it. I used the horn for the first time yesterday, and was embarrasssed. I'm thinking about replacing it with one of those bicycle horns from WalMart with the rubber bulb on it...

Don't know if it's a US/Canada thing or a Yaris-Toyota/everybody else thing (picking up my Yaris tomorrow), but so far none of the vehicules i've had with DRLs did not light the dashboard. It was pretty obvious at night if your regular lights were off.

The problem is that dashboard lights on the yaris is always on. So that's why anyone can be confused into thinking that there headlights are on with DRL's.

In Canada it is standard equipment. In the US I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) it comes with the weather package.

I'm a purchaser in a automotive manufacturing company. And one of my suppliers may be able to supply me with "Auto light on/off". Which of course turns the car lights on automtically when dark and off when light.

If anyone is interested tell me so I can give and approx. qty to my supplier (to get a price) and to see if it is worth even bothering to order.

SUPER interested! My ex-girlfriend's Matrix had that feature and it was awesome. Maybe if enough show interest in this we could start a GB thread.

If my supplier can supply it, and people are interested, then I'll start a GB.

But I will get a sample first to test on my car. If it works properly, only then I'll sell it.

There seems to be some interest (except brick :moon:  ).

I probably won't be able to come back to the forum until next Tueday. So if there are other people interested keep posting here, and hopefully by next Tuesday I will have some kind of answer.
