2007 yaris sedan
ok, enough about the wife, today i installed an Alpine head unit, using the 2006 echo install kit, and toyota wire kit..
the echo kit was an AI kit, and basically the only part used was the plastic plate and bin, the mounting brakets in the kit DO NOT work, i had to mount the head unit to the stock toyota brakets.
the plastic plate fits 'sorta" will be looking for another solution when a yaris specific kit comes out.
will post a dash shot later.

I used the same kit what a pain. I used the original mounting bracket, grinded off the points that stick out on the side. You need to use the mounting bracket that comes with the kit to secure the trim. I cut 75% of the plastic and screwed it to the side along with the original bracket. It looks great and is secure but a little work to make it fit perfect. I will post pics when I have everything apart to run my amp cables.

After reading your comments on using a kit, I was thinking of buying either the Kenwood or Pioneer 1 DIN graphic equalizer. That way I could use the factory mounting bracket for both the Alpine head unit with the EQ below. Do you guys think that would be a lot easier than trying to get the kit to fit properly?

That should work. You may have to watch for gap but all said and done it should fit. If it works out for you I would like to see some pics. I will take a pic tommorow and post it so you can see the finish. It does look good with the trim kit but if you have the EQ go with it, way nicer if it fits.

does anyone know if changing the stock radio voids any electronic warranty?

I installed my new deck before my first oil change, took it in and they didnt say a thing... dont know if they just didnt notice or what (cant miss the LED). I assume if you dont cut into any wires you dont have a problem.

I asked because I want to change my L.E.D.'s to blue and they said as long as there are NO stickers that say VOID IF SEAL BROKEN and that you don't cause any visable damage (you know what you are doing) then you are fine.

Does anyone know of an easy access point to grab 12 volt power to power my SkiFi XM receiver, Im looking for taping off the wires that power the 12 v power jack on the center console, anyone know what wires these are closer to a point that can be easily reached under the dash, or how to remove the center console so I can tape off it that way and run it back under the dash?
Thanks, Ron

Can't help you yet.. I did find out that just about everything is under the drivers left side kick panel though, but I have yet to figure out which wire is which.. That's where the dealer tapped into everything for the Chapman alarm system option that I didn't want to pay $600 for. They pulled the alarm CPU but all the wirring for it taps in inside that kick panel, one of them has to be acc switched as well as a constant power. If if figure it out I'll post it.
Unless somebody has the wiring diagram with the color codes for the wires out there????
