Finally, after having my "S" for a month, I saw a Yaris liftback today. Nice looking and was the lighter blue color. Very sharp.

Bayou Blue I think its called.. very cool color, reminds me a little of the Slate Blue the Hummer uses on the H3's.

I've only seen two in Los Angeles since i got mine 5/1 - a white LB with a real estate company's advertisement on the driver's side door (not very attractive) and a blue sedan in my rear view mirror.

I finally saw another Yaris today too. But then he's from out of state (Maryland)

pardon my ignorance, but do you work for the real estate company or are they just paying you to advertise?

I've see one Yaris back in March or begining of April on the road...then none for awhile...of course I saw Honda FIT and plenty of Dodge Calibers, and they came out after Yaris what gives!:iono: Then not long ago I saw three sedans on the road:w00t: I yet to see more hatches but I have a feeling that won't be for awhile as they are hard to get and more sedans are being produced anyway, at least for the U.S.

Lots of Honda FITs around here.. nice, but to minivan-ish for me.

As I said: "a white LB with a real estate company's advertisement on the driver's side door (not very attractive)," meaning I saw a white LB, not meaning I drive a white LB. I didn't like how the white 3-door looked.

saw my first other Yaris today, black liftback parked in the back row at a local bestbuy, wanted to park my sedan next to it and snap a shot, but no spots for me :)

Just got my Barcelona Red S Sedan two days ago. Yesterday, I saw a red sedan in the Stater Bros. parking lot then when I returned home i saw a light green one parked in front of a neighbor's house. Oh, yeah, last week I saw a red hatchback on the freeway. I haven't seen any Fit's at all. They're harder to come by in my area than the Yarii. I also saw one Suzuki Reno on the freeway.

Ive only seen one other Yaris (a LB) since buying my car on May 31 and it was a blazing blue ( i think thats what its called) and it was a young girl driving it. No other sitings as of yet.

I have yet to see a Yaris on the road here in Denver but I did see one at a Toyota dealer that someone had already purchased. I got excited and thought it was for sale, lol.

Yesterday, on the way home from Palm Springs, I got onto Interstate 10 right next to a liftback with tinted windows. I believe it was Bayou Blue. The kicker though, it was purchased from the dealership right next to my house. I wonder if this was the one that sold one hour before I got there. That's okay though. I love my S!

Some areas right now it's hard enough to see one at a dealer, much less on the road.. By next year though their should be a ton out there the way they are selling - if only Toyota can keep up.

Im sad as that is the color i wish i got and it looks SOOO hot in person! I think we are going to start seeing a lot of them on the road now. Im kinda sad im not the only kid on the block with one anymore :( lol

Yeah I see at least 1 a day. More sedans than anything, but I just saw one liftback this morning at the gym parking lot. Very cool little guy! It was a silver, base model, no features. It was also parked in a handicap spot, so I doubt the owner will trick it out.

I'm starting to see more Yarii, a sedan came up behind me on the hwy when I was driving to school but they went off an exit...then I saw another (sedan) at the mall parked. When I went out with my co-workers for dinner in the shopping mall lot there was a bayou blue liftback in the parking lot, didn't notice it till later but I was all giddy inside when I did spot it, sort of like a celebrity. Can't wait to see more.

yeah.. i woke up kinda hungover today
I miss driving boosted cars, and my 30 mpg average on the last few gas fill-ups in the Yaris is a sure sign of that. I haven't had a performance car on the street in some time..sold my JDM Aristo V300 TT, sold my civic hatch, and i've taken my only 2 running 240SX's off the street for track-only duty (which, btw, is few and far between these days partially cuz I've been getting hammered on weeknights! :bellyroll: )

and, no, I haven't seen many Yarii on the road. one sighting of a red liftback..that's it.

asa805
07-29-2006, 10:16 AM
Ive still only seen two yarii on teh road. Both sedans. A pretty jade green (which may have been teh sport) and a silver one (which i didnt like).

Im sure there are other liftbacks around but i just havent seen em... and i still turn enough heads to believe that their really isnt that many around over here.

Im pretty sure its still difficult to find them at the nearest dealerships.

I kinda like it this way. Leave all teh attention to me! Mwahaha!

My wife and I drove across state last weekend and all the rednecks in the small towns we stopped in had a field day with the car. They couldn't believe that we could fit 2 dogs luggage and a cooler full of beer in the back.

The funniest was when we stopped in for a bite to eat at Hardee's. About three people came up to the car as we arrived for breakfast. The remarks ranged from "Well gaw lee.... Ya'll got one of dem' lil' future cars don'tcha? " to "Damn. That darn thing ain't' gonna be nothin' more than a bump in da road for my pickup truck! Ya'll gotta death wish or somethin'?"

-Ahhh... I just love North Carolina and its local wildlife.

I looked through my rear veiw mirror a week ago and saw this smaller thinner looking car behind me. I couldnt figure out what it was. I slowed to let it get alot closer and realized it was a yaris hatchback just like mine. I started waving to the people but I don't think they caught on.

Here in Toronto, I'm on the road most of the day and usually see close to 20 per day. Most of them being 5dr liftbacks. I'm no-longer paying attention to them since they've become such a common occurrence. Even so, I'm still getting a lot of potential buyers questioning me about the car.

I was in Hawaii last week on a 3 week stay. In all that time, I only saw one red 3dr liftback in Ohau and a Sedan in Maui. Also saw 4 Fit and tons of xA and XB's.

Hi all,

One time me, wife and child was travelling down Hoxton Park Rd in Sydney and saw another Yaris sedan..... when we stopped at the lights, they started honking and waving to us.... so we waved back... giving each other the thumbs up....

Must be because we're so happy to save money on fuel.... he he

They're becoming increasingly popular here, but then Toyotas are probably the most popular cars here, one reason being they are manufactured in the country and there are no import taxes on them

Anyway, even on a short 2km drive I might cross one or two Yarii... most of them stock though. The light blueish-grey color seems the most popular from what I see!

For the longest time I had not seen any yarises. I finally saw my first about a month ago and one about 2 weeks ago. This week I have seen 3! Two sedans and one liftback. It makes me anxious to get mine. I want it before the snow comes!

Yup, sedans and liftbacks are still a rare sight in hawaii, at least on oahu anyways. Along with mine, i've only seen one bayou LB and two sedans. The dealer has a month waiting list, and last I saw, there were some on the lot to be picked up, so I dont know where all the new yaris' are haha.

I was just taking a look at your Yaris, looks nice, it makes me want to go out and give mine a wash (The last time I cleaned it was 10,000km ago).

I was also in Kauai for 5days in Poipu, but drove around the island twice and didn't see any Yaris.

Yeah, I heard that xbox 360 game is cool.

I liked drives in Maui the most, but Oahu had the go fast roads. Kauai's Waimea Canyon drive had some spectacular lookouts, but Maui's lookout outs could be had while driving along, but you're on a one lane dirt road, with a shear drop-off and oncoming traffic...The drive to Hana is tame when compared to driving completely around the island :burnrubber:
