So now that I am permanently keeping a laptop and touchscreen and aftermarket deck in my car, i'm thinking about getting a security system.
I've been looking around, but I can't figure out whether power locks are a necessity or not.
I'd like to not have to upgrade to power locks, it would be cheaper if i could just install an alarm system and a glass break sensor.
If anybody knows a system like that, let me know. I prefer the toyota one, so if someone could confirm or deny that i can install it with manual locks, i'd appreciate it.

I had an aftermarket Alarm installed in my Liftback and had some Power Acuators installed as well, cost me 300 total, Parts and Labor.

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same system, but if it is the security addon that is available at the dealer, it requires the oem power door locks and keyless entry, because it will use the original key fob.

That's what I thought.
I have no clue about any aftermarket systems, but can somebody recommend a good one for about 300 that does not require power locks?
Thanks!

well good alarm brands are: autopage, viper, crimestopper, k-9, so anything of those brands (especially autopage) would be good
basically all alarms are the same, they are all owned by directed electronics, i got more features on my avital 4400 than a viper at a fraction of the cost, they use simialar brain units anyway
