I need to feed 2 pieces of 4 awg,as thick as a little finger each, from the battery thru to the inside of the cab. I spent a
hour trying to find ANY place to get it thru. there doesnt seem to be any rubber holes except one small one in line with the passenger airbag and I dont want to use that.its too small anyway. the big bundle of wires that feeds thru that square tube is too filled up with wires to use it. Does anyone know the best way to get it thru. maybe an installer ???????
thanks....

Drill you a hole by the ac drain and go buy a rubber grumant and if you want put some silicone around the wires after you run them

This isn't the AC drain but it's an idea on where to pass the cable.....
On the passengers side under the hood there is already a hole which is covered:

Inside the car on passengers side near the air-condition:

Yeah, to the left of the ECU if you're looking at the motor there is a pass-through to left that we used for foglight wiring.
i went through the drivers fender and ran it through the door, works for me.

inside passenger foot well, pull back carpet, you'll see where the ac drain goes, i drilled right next to it ( the steel is thin)primed the bare metal, placed a grommet in and ran my wire, then silicone the whole works...

that is actually very unsafe, the constant pinching of the wire in the door jamb my wear though the plastic sheeth causing it to ground out, and if you do not have it fused properly you will have a fire

Someone should do a nice guide on all the nooks and crannies we can fish wire through. Possible sticky?

I was able to feed 2-6ga. cables through this hole in the firewall. I had to drill through the carpet though, but it's very concealed.

It is on the left side of the engine bay (facing the car) and is covered by a rubber stopper.

I chose to run a 4 gauge cable underneath the car, coming up through one of the grommets in the hatch floor. The feeding of the power cable through the firewall is the thing I hate most about doing car stereo.

Anyone else use this location to feed a power cable into the car? Will a 4 gauge power cable fit through that and would I need to put a new rubber grommet in that would seal that hole, but still fit a 4 gauge power cable through?

on my liftback there was aruber grommet behind the glovebox up high. came out on passenger side right above the pcm or ecm or bcm whatever is on the engine side of the firewall on passs side.

Uh yeah, that's the one pictured in the quote in the post right above yours.
So:
For anyone who has used that hole in astroman's pic. above, will a 4 gauge power cable fit through that and would I need to put a new rubber grommet in, that would seal that hole, but still fit a 4 gauge power cable through?

yeah 4 guage should be no problem. i ran 0 guage through and had to drill it a little bit bigger and then silicone around it.

i also used this method and it works fine. just make sure you do NOT run it through the door hinge or you run the risk of cutting the wire when you open the door and getting a shower of sparks. (I did this in a 92 buick skylark, i speak from experience)

the door is a bad place. i would never recomend this i have seen cars burn to the ground because of poor wire maintenance like this. always run in firewall where it will not get pinched every time you open and close the door.

Not sure if this one can be found in '08 and '07 LBs, but my 5-door '09 LB has a big rubber grommet behind the brake and gas pedals, under the carpet. My dealer routed my rear-view mirror's wire and temp. sensor through there.
